How Cold is Colorado Springs Monument

I often get asked of we all live in log cabins and get snowed in the winter. Well the best kept secret about the Colorado Springs, Monument area is the weather.  We average about 20 of snow a year.  Usually it arrives in the form of a mild dusting or inch or 4 at a time.  Then the sun comes out over 300 days a year, it gets warm again (60s last week), the snow melts and we wait for the next round of snow.   You can almost golf year round here in between the snow and cold days.  To be here viewing the mountains from just about everywhere is a pleasure I don't take for granted.  So, it's really not as cold at the attached picture all the time.  A little snow here and there is really fun.  My son lives for snow days off from school!  I can not imagine living anywhere else!
