Cheeseburger Hold the Guilt
The Alaskan Burger at Cy’s Drive-In has been a mainstay in my diet for the last 10 years. I never seem to get sick of it. I never seem to change. Cy’s never seems to change either. At least the restaurant hasn’t changed for the last six decades or so. They still have carhop service, they still have James Dean and Elvis adorning the walls, and they still make a great burger. The next time you’re in Old Colorado City and are going to the bustling Uintah Gardens shopping Center on 19th and Uintah, look to the Southeast corner of the intersection. By the way – you don’t have to feel guilty about getting a big burger for lunch. They use all local beef from Mike Callicrate that isn’t given the usual dose of steroids, hormones and antibiotics, and everything that gets fried is fried in vegetable oil. If you’re downtown or on the West Side and looking for a locally owned fast food restaurant that cares about what they’re serving, I highly recommend giving Cy’s a try. And to make your ordering process easier – the Alaskan burger combo is #3 on the menu. Enjoy.
