A perfect wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch
Are you looking for that perfect place for that special upcoming wedding or business event here in the Pikes Peak Region? Well, do I have the secret to share! I was reminded of this amazing place while on a hike earlier this week. Nestled at the base of Spruce Mountain in Larkspur, Colorado is a very historic and sophisticated family-owned 400-acre active cattle ranch that is now open to the public. And it’s appropriately named Spruce Mountain Ranch. The Ranch family simply had so many requests for weddings and occasions of the like, that they decided to make it official and go public and we are so glad they did.
My daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Bobby, were one of the first to be married there and let me tell you, we continue to receive compliments on the amazing setting and the great fun we all shared there on that warm, beautiful July day. It was truly an epic event. The hosts and family at the Ranch graciously offer their guests the opportunity to fully embrace and enjoy their home for the day, which made the occasion so memorable for everyone who attended. They have carefully designed every detail and give their guests many options for the wedding sites and the reception that follows. No matter what size occasion you have in mind, they have the perfect setting. And their service and care is excellent, as they truly want your occasion to standout as the best.
The property is truly breathtaking and you can see forever -- the beautiful Front Range to the west, Spruce Mountain to the north with the picturesque train and grassy meadows to the east. The Ranch itself has lakes and ponds for fishing, tennis, and rooms, lodges and various outdoor settings, gardens, hillsides and meadows to suit about every size party from intimate to many. The grounds are immaculate and beautifully manicured which perfectly stages the rich natural Colorado beauty and even seems to make the skies bluer and the grass greener!
It’s convenient as it’s just north of the north of Colorado Springs and is a 5-minute drive to Palmer Lake and Monument and less than an hour to the Denver metro area. This photo was taken just this week from the top of Spruce Mountain where I was able to capture the ranch setting and if you can zoom in a little you can see the Ranch lakes and many trees the family has planted over the last 10 years they have owned the property.

As for the Spruce Mountain trail I hiked earlier this week when I snapped this photo? You can find that trailhead just north of Spruce Mountain Ranch on Spruce Mountain Road. Just take Highway 105 out to Palmer Lake from Monument, and then go north on Spruce Mountain Road about 3 miles. It’s a pretty gentle incline to the top where the hike is flat and the views are phenomenal – well, that is if you like Colorado beauty. There are great places to stop and eat lunch while taking in these magnificent views. And, in fact, Brooke’s prince charming, Bobby actually proposed to her on Spruce Mountain so it really was the perfect place for the couple to enter into wedding bliss.
